Things had moved so fast for Andrej Sekera since arriving in Los Angeles after a Feb. 25 trade with Carolina, that the Kings’ newest defenseman still hadn’t found a place in Southern California to call home. Instead, Sekera spent this time bunking with Slovakian countryman Marian Gaborik in the South Bay.
“When I first came here,” Sekera says, “it was a new city, new system, new players, new habits. I had to get used to it at first, and it seemed like a lot.”
