A couple of wins on home ice was a decent way for the LA Kings and Jim Hiller to welcome the New Year for 2026 this past week.
The Los Angeles Kings rang in 2026 with a four-game homestand that began on New Year’s Day against the Tampa Bay Lightning, followed by games against the Minnesota Wild on Jan. 3 and 5, and concluded on Jan. 7 against the San Jose Sharks.

New Year’s Day did not begin well for the Kings when Lightning forward Brayden Point scored a power-play goal three minutes and thirty-four seconds into the first period.
