Major League Soccer is growing at a rapid rate according to MLS commissioner Don Garber in an article in the New York Times.
The league is rapidly expanding both on and off the field, with a plan to grow to 28 clubs by 2020. As the nation’s interest in soccer continues to expand with each passing day as evidenced by rising television ratings, the league now finds itself ready to continue to invest in expansion clubs over the next few years.
Major League Soccer is scheduled to add two new clubs by the end of the year, and then pick two more before the end of 2018.
