One point separates the third-place Seattle Sounders and fourth-place LA Galaxy, who meet in a critical Western Conference showdown Sunday evening at CenturyLink Field.
The Sounders (12-8-7) repeated as Cascadia Cup champions, defeating the Portland Timbers, 2-1, at Providence Park last Friday. Cristian Roldan put the visitors in front in the 22nd minute, and then Raul Ruidiaz doubled the Sounders' lead two minutes into the second half. Diego Valeri pulled Portland a goal back on a deflected free kick in the 54th minute.
The Galaxy (13-11-3) raced out to a 3-1 first-half lead, but settled for a 3-3 draw against LAFC last Sunday, remaining undefeated in El Trafico.
