LA Galaxy youth phenom Efrain Alvarez recently informed MLSsoccer.com he has not finalized a decision on his international future. The 16-year old dual-national is eligible to play for the U.S. and Mexico despite switching sides to join El Tri back in 2016.
“I’m not closing the door on anyone. I could still play for the U.S. or I could keep playing for Mexico. But I’m with Mexico right now and that’s my focus,” Alvarez said.
Alvarez made one youth national team appearance for the United States — the country of his birth — in 2016.
