The LA Galaxy have re-signed Giuseppe “GGGodfather” Guastella to be their eMLS player for the 2021 season, the club announced Wednesday.
Guastella has been the Galaxy’s eMLS player since launch in 2018, and he was the losing finalist in the 2019 eMLS Cup. He’s made the eMLS Cup competition in each season to date.
The announcement drop was truly top-notch, with Guastella, dressed like Al Pacino in “The Godfather, Pt. III”, quoting a famous line from the movie.
The homage was both a reference to his gamer handle, but also perhaps his message earlier this year that he was planning to take a break for a bit from FIFA play.
