LOS ANGELES (Monday, May 31, 2021) – LA Galaxy goalkeeper Jonathan Bond has been voted the Major League Soccer Player of the Week for Week 7 of the 2021 MLS season. Bond joins forward Javier Hernandez (Week 1, Week 2) in the third instance that an LA Galaxy player has earned MLS Player of the Week honors through the first seven weeks of league play.
Bond recorded 12 saves in leading the Galaxy to a 1-0 shutout victory against the San Jose Earthquakes at Dignity Health Sports Park on Saturday afternoon.
The 12 saves were the second-most by a goalkeeper in a single game in the Galaxy’s 26-year history, and the most for a shutout victory in the club’s records.
