For LA fans, the prospect of a Galaxy team limping to the end of the season facing a hungry Real Salt Lake fighting for a playoff spot may have made for dull viewing.
However the Galaxy have made small strides under Sigi Schmid, in particular the improvement of Bradford Jamieson IV. And it was the Galaxy Homegrown player who scored the opener, yet Kyle Beckerman equalized at the death as the teams drew 1-1 in a surprisingly entertaining match Saturday night at the StubHub Center.
With Real Salt Lake desperately seeking points you would imagine Mike Petke’s side pushing the tempo, but it was the Galaxy who peppered Nick Rimando’s goal early on.
