CARSON, Calif. – The LA Galaxy Academy enjoyed a successful day in Tijuana on Wednesday, splitting a pair of results against Club Tijuana’s academy sides.
The Galaxy’s highly-touted U-16 squad defeated Club Tijuana’s U-16s 2-1 on Wednesday. The Galaxy opened the scoring off an impressive bit of team passing that ended with a tidy finish by Misa Becerra. Uly Llanez scored an impressive winner from beyond the penalty area and then broke into Robbie Keane’s trademark cartwheel celebration to celebrate.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy U-18’s fell 3-1 to their counterparts from Xolos. Club Tijuana built a three-goal lead, but Erick Gallinar put the Galaxy on the board with a brilliant individual effort, dribbling through the defense before finishing from close range.
