Belgium defeated England 2-0 on Saturday to secure the third place at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The action began immediately as Belgium raced toward England’s goal seconds after the whistle. In the 4th minute, Eden Hazard weaved through English defenders, finding Thomas Meunier, who slid the ball into the post to score Belgium’s fastest goal in World Cup history. England moved into a defensive posture after the Meunier’s efforts, staying back while Belgium took the initiative.
After halftime, however, England returned to the pitch with a newfound energy, overpowering their opponent on the front foot.
