Yimi Garcia has arthroscopic surgery on left knee

LOS ANGELES — Dodgers pitcher Yimi Garcia, out since April with a right biceps injury, had arthroscopic surgery on Tuesday to remove a small bone fragment in his left knee, the team announced on Wednesday.

It was a rough year for Garcia, who had a 3.24 ERA in nine relief appearances, with four strikeouts and a walk in 8 innings before landing on the disabled list in late April with right biceps soreness.

Garcia was close to returning to the Dodgers after the All-Star break, and pitched in six games on a minor league rehab assignment. But after his outing on July 29 with Double-A Tulsa, his first back-to-back appearances on the rehab assignment, he suffered a setback and was shut down.
