LOS ANGELES -- Dodgers catcher Yasmani Grandal has nursing a sore left shoulder and is out of the starting lineup for Thursday night's series opener against the Reds.
The soreness is in Grandal's non-throwing shoulder, which is a good sign, and he has been dealing with it for a few days. Manager Don Mattingly and the training staff was worried that Grandal could be hampered on offense.
"We were trying to get to the lefty, but I don't want to get to the point where it affects his swing," Mattingly said.
