Los Angeles Dodgers two-way star Shohei Ohtani was named the starting National League designated hitter for the All-Star Game this summer in Atlanta. Ohtani was the NL’s leading vote-getter.
Will Smith, Freddie Freeman, Tommy Edman, Mookie Betts, Max Muncy, Teoscar Hernandez and Andy Pages are all All-Star finalists as Phase 2 of voting begins.
Dave Roberts will also play a role in the Midsummer Classic as he is set to be the manager of the NL team.
The Dodgers skipper was asked whether Ohtani will be a two-way player in the All-Star Game, to which Roberts answered: “No.
