What Did The Dodgers Get In The Dustin May Trade?

The Los Angeles Dodgers traded Dustin May to the Boston Red Sox less than an hour before the 3 p.m. trade deadline on Thursday.

May’s name had been in trade rumors in recent weeks, and the right-hander will begin the next chapter of his career in Boston.

As for what the Dodgers received in exchange for May, LA acquired outfielder prospect James Tibbs III from the Red Sox, per MLB insider Robert Murray. Tibbs was acquired by the Red Sox from the San Francisco Giants in the Rafael Devers trade.

Tibbs is hitting .232 with 13 home runs and 39 runs batted in across 87 appearances in both High-A and Double-A this season.
