Third base a priority for Dodgers

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. >> Even though the Dodgers didn’t get Chris Sale, it still may have been good news for them when the Chicago White Sox traded him on Tuesday.

By dealing Sale to the Boston Red Sox, the White Sox essentially signaled to the industry that they are rebuilding. It would be logical for them to also trade third baseman Todd Frazier, who is a free agent at the end of 2017.

The Dodgers have made re-signing third baseman Justin Turner one of their priorities this winter. If they can’t, Frazier could be an alternative.

When Dodgers president Andrew Friedman was asked if he interpreted the White Sox move to signal a willingness to move other players, he said: “My cheap seat analysis would be yes, but it’s a better question for them.
