Recently Cut Dodgers Pitcher Signs With NL Squad

Former Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed pitcher Luis Garcia has signed a Major League deal with the Washington Nationals.

The Dodgers designated Garcia for assignment at the end of June, and the reliever was officially released by the team on July 4.

With the defending champions this season, Garcia sported a 5.27 ERA with 24 strikeouts and a 1.829 WHIP across 27.1 innings of work.

The right-hander’s last performance with the Dodgers was less than ideal as he allowed three earned runs on four hits against the Kansas City Royals. Garcia could not finish the inning and recorded just one out.
