Max Scherzer was unable to solve his career struggles at Coors Field but the Los Angeles Dodgers rallied late to earn a 7-5 win in 10 innings to take the rubber match from the Colorado Rockies.
Albeit only in five starts at the Rockies’ home ballpark, Scherzer entered the day a lifetime 0-3 with a 5.88 ERA and 1.65 WHIP. He had last pitched there in 2016 and returning five years later brought about more trouble.
After being staked a 3-0 lead in the second inning behind an RBI single from Austin Barnes and Corey Seager’s two-run blooper, Scherzer immediately allowed the Rockies to pull even.
