Former Los Angeles Dodgers All-Star J.D. Martinez is still a free agent this season, but is still training in hopes of finding his next team.
As a full-time designated hitter, Martinez has not been able to ink a deal with a club. Most teams already had the position filled in the offseason, and the All-Star’s down 2024 season may be a factor into why no organization has jumped to sign him.
In 2024, Martinez slashed .235/.320/.406 with 16 homers and 69 RBIs in 120 games for the New York Mets. However, by the time the Mets reached the postseason, Martinez was out of a job as Jesse Winker became the team’s DH.
