Jackie Robinson has been celebrated in multiple facets this season, and the next honor comes in the form of a special release of the Nike Air Griffey Max 1. The Jackie Robinson Day version of the signature model launches via the SNKRS draw system at 7 a.m. PT on Saturday, April 24.
The limited-edition version of Ken Griffey Jr.’s signature shoe features Robinson’s iconic No. 42 on the strap and footbed in place of No. 24. The shoe also has some of Robinson’s most memorable and inspiring quotes on the ankle strap: “There’s not an American in this country free until every one of us is free.
