The Miami Marlins swept the New York Yankees on Sunday for the first time in franchise history (of a three-game set or more). The Marlins also fight their way back to .500 for the first time since April 15, when their record was 8-8.
Unfortunately, Milwaukee Brewers All-Star ace Jacob Misiorowski was placed on the injured list. He missed his scheduled start on Sunday with a left tibia bruise.
In more unfortunate injury news, Boston Red Sox rookie Marcelo Mayer’s sprained wrist may be more severe than the initial projections. The 22-year-old has been on the injured list since July 25 as season-ending surgery is reportedly an option at this point.
