The New York Yankees officially released right-handed pitcher JT Brubaker on Thursday. The 31-year-old was designated for assignment earlier this week after posting a 3.38 ERA in 12 relief appearances.
Additionally, Seattle Mariners’ newly-acquired All-Star first baseman Josh Naylor suffered an apparent injury while taking a swing on Thursday. Naylor leads the league in stolen bases over the last 15 days with 10 swipes, and is hitting .273 in his 12 appearances with the new squad.
Finally, the Houston Astros signed right-hander Enyel De Los Santos on Thursday and designated right-handed pitcher Luis Contreras to open up a roster spot.
