MLB Notes: Padres All-Star Suffers Season-Ending Injury, Dodgers Sign Veteran Pitcher, Red Sox Make Trade

San Diego Padres All-Star Jason Adam was carted off the field on Monday night with an injury to his lower leg. The relief pitcher fell down in immediate pain in the seventh inning after his cleat appeared to get stuck in the mound.

After the game, it was revealed that he had a quad tendon rupture and will likely miss 6-9 months.

In other news, the Los Angeles Dodgers signed veteran southpaw Andrew Heaney to a minor league contract. He will conveniently begin in Triple-A Oklahoma City, which also happens to be the city that he is currently living in as he returns to the organization he last pitched with in 2022.
