MLB News: Diamondbacks Agree to 8-year Deal with Top Rookie Corbin Carroll

The Arizona Diamondbacks, an NL West rival of the Dodgers, came to terms on a huge contract extension with rookie outfielder Corbin Carroll. The top prospect agreed to an 8-year deal with $111 million deal, keeping him in Arizona until his age 30 season. There’s also a ninth year team option that could bring the deal up to $134 million.

MLB.com’s Steve Gilbert reported the news.

ESPN’s Jeff Passan broke down the deal nicely here.

The speedster centerfield is the fastest player in the game by sprint speed. Dodgers fans might have saw this a few days ago when he hit an easy triple off Evan Phillips.
