Mike Shildt Seems to Admit Padres Hit Shohei Ohtani on Purpose as Retaliation vs Dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres waited until the ninth inning of the final game of seven meetings in 11 days to have a benches-clearing brawl that seemed to have been brewing since last October.

After rookie right-hander Jack Little (in his MLB debut) hit Padres slugger Fernando Tatis Jr. on the wrist in the top of the ninth, San Diego’s manager Mike Shildt briskly headed toward his superstar while yelling toward the Dodgers dugout to start a 10-minute stoppage in the action and a skirmish that followed.
