"After [Wednesday's] result, it should be a little more clear, but nothing definitive," Roberts said. "Clayton will be ready to pitch when he's asked to pitch."

In addition to Kershaw's workload so far this postseason -- three starts and a save, adding up to 19 1/3 innings in a 10-day span -- how much the bullpen is used on Tuesday and Wednesday will impact the decision, according to Roberts. Rich Hill will be on the hill for Game 3, with rookie Julio Urias slated for Game 4.

"That's why it's not definitive; there's a lot of variables," Roberts said.
