LOS ANGELES -- Benches cleared during the bottom of the third inning of the Dodgers-Rangers game on Wednesday night after a home-plate collision between Los Angeles' Matt Kemp and Texas catcher Robinson Chirinos.
Kemp tried to score from second base on a two-out single to right by Enrique Hernandez. Chirinos caught right fielder Nomar Mazara's throw on a bounce ahead of Kemp, who bowled over Chirinos. When the pair got to their feet, they brushed, then Kemp shoved Chirinos and the benches cleared.
After an umpire meeting, Kemp and Chirinos were ejected.
