How’s Andrew Heaney Doing for Dodgers Since Signing Minor League Deal?

When the Los Angeles Dodgers signed veteran Andrew Heaney to a minor league deal earlier this month, many eyebrows around the baseball world were raised.

The 34-year-old southpaw was tossing a 5.39 ERA across 26 appearances with the Pittsburgh Pirates this season, but has looked sharp in his two outings in Triple-A thus far.

The former Dodger struck out eight over three innings, generating 10 whiffs on 46 offerings in his first game back in the organization since 2022. His next outing featured one hit, one walk, and one strikeout on 38 total pitches. Certainly less punch outs than his initial outing, but if the Dodgers need another arm down the stretch, perhaps a reunion with Heaney can be in the cards.
