Yesterday, the Dodgers and Giants played in what may have seemed like a meaningless game to the hometown Giants fans. However, the game was far from meaningless to the Dodgers. The Dodgers may have clinched the National League West division already, but they still have yet to clinch home field advantage. In fact, going into yesterday's game, the Mets were leading for home field advantage over the Dodgers. Luckily for the Dodgers, the Mets lost earlier in the day to the Phillies with a score of 3-0. That meant that with a Dodgers win over the rival Giants, the Dodgers would catch the Mets in the race for home feld advantage with only one more series to play in the regular season against the Padres.
