Walker Buehler saved the Los Angeles Dodgers when their injured pitching staff was running on fumes in the World Series, stepping in as an impromptu closer in Game 5 of the World Series.
But ever since Buehler signed a one-year, $21.05 million deal with the Boston Red Sox in December, the right-hander has severely struggled on his new team.
Across 13 starts this season, Buehler has posted a career-worst 6.29 ERA, which is also the highest of all American League pitchers with at least 60 innings.
He made a short stint on the 15-day IL with right shoulder bursitis in May.
