Former Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Nick Ahmed announced his retirement from MLB on the “Get in Game” podcast on Thursday.
“The game has given me so much and I have so much to be thankful for from it, but now it’s time to move on,” Ahmed said.
Ahmed played 12 seasons in MLB and spent the majority of his career with the Arizona Diamondbacks. He won two National League Gold Glove awards in 2018 and 2019 while playing for the Diamondbacks.
Arizona ultimately released Ahmed after the 2023 season, and he bounced around four different teams for the last two seasons of his career.
