Last February the Los Angeles Dodgers added another piece to their bullpen in the form of Louis Coleman. He wasn’t far removed from success with the Kansas City Royals, though essentially spent the entire 2015 season pitching for Triple-A Omaha.
Coleman and Luis Avilan competed during Spring Training for the final spot in the Dodgers’ bullpen, which ultimately went to the right-hander. Considering Coleman was out of options he figured to remain with the club throughout the year.
That held true outside of a stay on the bereavement list and one-month stay on the disabled list that began in August.
