Former Dodgers All-Star Catcher Likely Retiring From MLB

Former Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Yasmani Grandal will likely retire after signing a minor league deal with the Boston Red Sox this spring.

Grandal, 36, spent just two months with the Red Sox before leaving the WooSox Tuesday in between a road series. The following day, Boston officially placed him on the restricted list.

“At the moment, it looks like he’s probably going to walk away and potentially hang them up,” WooSox manager Chad Tracy told MassLive’s Katie Morrison-O’Day earlier this week.
