LOS ANGELES>> The Dodgers are satisfied that Rich Hill is ready to pitch again.
Hill will be activated from the 10-day disabled list in time to start Sunday’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. It will be his first start since a blister on his left middle finger emerged after his debut on April 5.
For his part, Hill is sweating.
The 37-year-old left-hander believes the reason the blister has become such a nuisance the last two seasons is the constant accumulation of moisture on his fingertips. It wasn’t a problem early in his career but it certainly is now; Hill missed much of the second half of last season with the same problem.
