Dustin May Breaks Silence on Dodgers Exit, Trade to Red Sox

The Los Angeles Dodgers traded right-handed pitcher Dustin May to the Boston Red Sox ahead of the trade deadline in a move that became increasingly more likely heading into the final week of July.

With the Dodgers getting healthy, May — who had a 4.85 ERA across a career-high 104 innings this season — was losing his spot in the rotation.

So just before the 3 p.m. PT deadline on Thursday, the Dodgers sent May to Boston for a pretty substantial haul: 2024 first-round pick James Tibbs III and outfielding prospect Zach Ehrhard.
