Perhaps one of the reasons for his prowess on the mound this season is his relationship with future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw. Yamamoto spoke to Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times on his admiration for the southpaw and what he learns from him day in and day out.
“In him, you have a player on the team whom you can model yourself after,” Yamamoto said. “I also learn a lot watching him pitch. He’s someone you can admire in every aspect.
