The Los Angeles Dodgers World Series roster was officially set Friday morning and as expected it did not include Alex Vesia among the team’s 12 active pitchers.
The Dodgers announced on Thursday that Vesia was away from the team and with his wife, Kayla, due to a “deeply personal family matter.” While speaking with reporters shortly after, manager Dave Roberts indicated the Dodgers weren’t certain of Vesia’s potential availability for the World Series.
“I think right now, we’re in the mode of trying to understand the process, the rules, a way that we could sort of try to navigate the roster,” Roberts said.
