Alex Call is one of just two active members from the Los Angeles Dodgers’ modest trade deadline and has been an important chess piece for the club in the postseason, even if he hasn’t been called upon that often.
The Dodgers’ biggest needs at the deadline were in the outfield and bullpen. Call and Brock Stewart were the only major moves made to fortify the Major League roster. Stewart was lost for the season prior to the playoffs due to season-ending right shoulder surgery.
Call was a third-round draft pick by the Chicago White Sox in the 2016 MLB Draft and made his debut in 2022.
