The Los Angeles Dodgers reportedly have their sights set on Miami Marlins right-handed pitcher Sandy Alcantara as the trade deadline nears.
“They want another starter, and yes, Alcantara is the man they want,” MLB insider Bob Nightengale writes in a recent column.
The Dodgers made it a top priority to acquire pitching talent this past offseason after a 2024 season that was headlined by a pitching staff marred by injuries. The Dodgers’ aggressiveness to sign pitchers last winter almost seemed excessive, but president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman said the goal was to avoid the trade market in July.
