Dodgers Trade Target Linked to Red Sox as Offseason Progresses

The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal and Will Sammon report the Boston Red Sox have discussed a trade for Dodgers trade target Brendan Donovan with the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Red Sox and Cardinals have already done plenty of business this winter, with Boston lifting starting pitcher Sonny Gray and first baseman Willson Contreras from St. Louis during the offseason.

“St. Louis Cardinals president of baseball operations Chaim Bloom, who already has traded right-hander Sonny Gray and first baseman Willson Contreras to the Boston Red Sox, might not be done dealing with his former club,” Rosenthal and Sammon wrote.
