The Los Angeles Dodgers traded Kyle Garlick to the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for Minor League pitcher Tyler Gilbert. The trade comes five days after the Dodgers designated Garlick and Tyler White for assignment.
They were corresponding moves to creating room on the 40-man roster for the additions of Mookie Betts, Brusdar Graterol, David Price and Luke Raley. That left L.A. with seven days to trade, release or outright Garlick and White off the roster.
Garlick was among the nine rookies who played for the Dodgers throughout the 2019 season, and he was one of eight to make his MLB debut.
