Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts is planning on giving two-way player Shohei Ohtani the day off during Thursday’s series finale against the Colorado Rockies, manager Dave Roberts announced.
“I talked to him a little bit on the bench today,” Roberts said after Tuesday’s game. “He’s going to leave it all out there tomorrow and he’ll be down on Thursday.”
Ohtani is set to make his 10th start of the season on Wednesday. Ohtani’s last three starts have come before an off-day for the Dodgers, but this time around, they play a series finale on Thursday.
This is the first season since 2023 that Ohtani is taking on the two-way player workload.
