Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani Accomplishes Feat Not Seen In Over 125 Years

The Los Angeles Dodgers were just swept by the Los Angeles Angels and fell out of first place in the National League West, but Shohei Ohtani did what he could to keep his team afloat.

Over the course of the three-game series, Ohtani went 3-for-10 with two home runs and four walks. He also started Wednesday’s game on the mound, pitching 4.1 innings and allowing four runs with seven strikeouts.

In Wednesday’s game, Ohtani made history that hasn’t been seen in baseball in at least 125 years.

According to MLB researcher Sarah Langs, Ohtani became the first starting pitcher since at least 1900 to hit a leadoff triple.
