Dodgers Sent Scout to Watch $16 Million All-Star Reliever Before He Signed With Phillies

The Los Angeles Dodgers were reportedly interested in former All-Star right-handed reliever David Robertson before he signed with the Philadelphia Phillies over the weekend.

Robertson, 40, threw in front of teams at Bryant University in Rhode Island on July 11, and the Dodgers were among the eight teams in attendance, according to The Athletic’s Matt Gelb. In addition to the Dodgers and Phillies, the New York Mets, Chicago Cubs, New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays and Detroit Tigers sent someone to watch Robertson.
