LOS ANGELES -- Dodgers minor league pitcher Sebastian Martinez on Friday was suspended for 72 games for testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs, in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.
The right-handed tested positive for Stanozolol, an anabolic steroid, and Furosemide, a diuretic sometimes used as a masking agent. Guess it didn't work.
Martinez, 20, is on the roster of the Dominican Summer League Dodgers, whose schedule will start within the next two weeks. The DSL schedule is just 72 games, so this suspension for Martinez is for the full season.
The Dodgers signed Martinez, a 6'2, 175-pounder, out of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic on June 5, 2015.
