Los Angeles Dodgers All-Star catcher Will Smith was removed from Wednesday’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates in the top of the third inning.

The Dodgers announced that Smith left the game with a right hand contusion.
Smith suffered the injury when he was hit by a foul ball in the bottom of the second inning. The foul tip hit him directly on the right hand, which was resting on the side of his leg. Here’s a video of the play:
