The move came out of nowhere as there was no news regarding Vesia dealing with an injury. He did last pitch on Aug. 21, though, and the move was retroactive to Aug. 23.
Blake Snell was reinstated off the paternity list to replace Vesia on the active roster.
Vesia has struggled as of late after a dominant start to the season, allowing earned runs in four of his last six outings.
