Less than two weeks into his stint with the Los Angeles Dodgers, reliever Brock Stewart has landed on the injured list.
The Dodgers placed Stewart on the 15-day IL on Tuesday with right shoulder inflammation. The right-hander could return by the end of the season but still needs to undergo further testing.
Stewart had told the Dodgers about what he was feeling and decided not to pitch through the pain. Los Angeles is hopeful they caught Stewart’s injury early enough for him to be healthy before the end of the season.
“It sounds like we caught it at the very front end,” Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman said, via the Orange County Register.
