Dodgers Officially Release Right-Hander Pitcher

The Los Angeles Dodgers officially released right-hander Matt Sauer, per the team’s transaction log.

Sauer was designated for assignment by the Dodgers over the weekend when Dalton Rushing was placed on the injured list and Chuckie Robinson was called up. After clearing waivers, the Dodgers elected to release Sauer back to free agency.

Sauer, 26, joined the Dodgers this offseason on a minor league deal. The right-hander ended up making the roster for the Tokyo Series, but didn’t appear in either of the two games.
