LOS ANGELES – Brandon McCarthy and Hyun-Jin Ryu were back on the mound at Dodger Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.
For McCarthy, the simulated game could be the final step before returning in some capacity with the Dodgers. For Ryu, that window has closed.
McCarthy threw approximately 75 pitches over five simulated innings, his second time throwing to hitters in the past week. He has not pitched in a game since a four-inning rehab start with Class-A Rancho Cucamonga two weeks ago.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts would not rule out McCarthy starting another game for the Dodgers before the end of the regular season.
