Los Angeles Dodgers two-way star Shohei Ohtani announced this week that he’ll be participating in the 2026 World Baseball Classic, representing his home country of Japan. At this time, it’s currently unclear whether he plans to pitch and hit in the tournament, or just hit.
In other news, New York Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner admitted he was concerned with the Dodgers potentially continuing to win and pulling away from the rest of the league.
“Of course it’s a concern,” Steinbrenner said. “The (Dodgers) have tremendous resources, and they’ve gotten the job done. That’s the big thing.
